Elegance China Hire

A full set of our terms and conditions of hire will be provided at the same time as our quotation. A summary is provided below:

Our standard hire period is 3 days; should you wish to hire our china for longer, please discuss this with us at the time of booking.

Once we have discussed your requirements a written quotation will be provided. A non-refundable deposit of 50% will be required to secure the booking, with the balance due 7 days before your event. Prices are valid for 90 days.

*An additional 50% refundable breakage deposit (capped at £150) will be due at the same time as the payment balance – this will be refunded to you within 7 days once all china has been checked back in.

We know things happen and where possible we will work with you to secure an alternative date within 3 months of the original date. As stated above, the 50% deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel within the 7 days of your hire date, then the full 100% paid is non-refundable; but the breakage deposit will be refunded. Cancellations must be received in writing.

We can deliver free of charge to any address (ground floor level) within the SG1, SG2 and SG3 areas. Delivery outside of this area will be charged at 50p/mile per round trip. Please ask for a quote at time of booking. Alternatively, you are welcome to collect your order from our home location to avoid any delivery/collection charges.

*At this time, during the Covid pandemic, we will operate in a Covid secure environment and will prepare all items 72 hours beforehand.

Our prices do not include setting up, however for weddings or other larger events, should you require us to assist with the assembly of the 3-tier cake stands to support you, your caterer or event planner, then this should be discussed at the time of booking. An hourly rate of £10/hour (minimum of 1 hour) will be charged for this service.

All our china is provided in good condition. Given that some china is old and vintage, fair wear and tear is to be expected. Please check your order carefully on delivery and sign the delivery note to confirm that all is in order. We cannot accept any faults or discrepancies notified after items have been signed for. All items remain the responsibility of the hirer until return or collected. This includes loss or breakages.

Unfortunately, accidents do happen! As referenced above, an additional 50% refundable breakage deposit (capped at £150) will be due at the same time as the payment balance (ie. 7 days before your event) – this will be refunded to you within 7 days once all china has been checked back in. Breakages, damage and/or missing items will be charged for; the costs are itemised in the full terms and conditions document.

Vintage china is very fragile, and we would prefer you leave the washing up to us; cleaning costs are incorporated into the hire charges.

Please note - none of our items are dishwasher or microwave safe.

It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that all our china, cutlery and other items are securely stored while in their possession. Please ensure you check your items against the inventory – any discrepancies must be notified prior to your event. Following your event, all items should be wrapped and packed securely for return transportation using the packaging and boxes provided. Any breakages due to poor wrapping will result in you being charged as itemised in the full terms and conditions document. If, on collection, we feel it necessary to repack the china then £10 will be deducted from the damage deposit to cover our time.

Our china and other items hired are under the hirer's responsibility, therefore Elegance China Hire accepts no responsibility or liability for any damage or injury to any guest caused by the items hired, however caused.
